2018 Conference and Professional Development Workshop - Haywood Community College, Clyde North Dakota

Greetings!

I’d like to invite you all to the annual meeting and professional development workshop of the North American Wildlife Technology Association hosted by Haywood Community College June 25th-28th, 2018 in the beautiful mountains of Haywood County, North Carolina. Our faculty and staff are looking forward to providing great facilities, meals and activities as our organization gathers to conduct accreditation and other business as well as professional development in the form of hands-on workshops and field experiences.

A tentative agenda is attached with details on lodging, meals, locations etc… While we have not finalized workshops and field experiences, be assured that our intention is to bring you in contact with as many wildlife professionals as possible as we showcase the many unique habitats, flora and fauna found in our region as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with managing wildlife in our area.

The registration cost for the conference will be $250/person. That fee will include the costs of three nights lodging, three breakfasts, four lunches, four dinners, associated refreshments and a conference t-shirt. Provided lodging will be at the Lake Logan Conference Center (http://www.lakelogan.org/ ) here in Haywood County. Surrounded by National Forest in the heart of the southern Appalachians,  Lake Logan is an exceptional meeting facility that I am sure you will all enjoy! The closest and most convenient airport is the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) located about 40 minutes from our campus.

As part of our organization’s efforts to encourage new institutions to attend the 2018 annual meeting, we are waiving the registration fee for new (1st-time) attendees as well as for institutions that have been accredited by  NAWTA in the past but who have been inactive for 10 years or more. Please encourage colleagues from such institutions to come and experience the great things we have to offer as an organization!

I will provide more information and an updated agenda as we draw closer to the meeting date. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or by email with any questions you may have.

Looking forward to seeing you all in June!
